July 2010:
SCI is proud to announce the establishment of the SCI - California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) partnership. The Sports Concussion Institute has been selected as the official entity providing sports concussion management consultation and care for collegiate athletes across the state.

The CCAA is comprised of colleges spanning Northern and Southern California. Member institutions include:  Humboldt State University, Sonoma State University, CSU East Bay, San Francisco State University, CSU Monterey Bay, CSU Stanislaus, CSU Dominguez Hills, CSU Los Angeles, CSU San Bernardino, Cal Poly Pomona, and UC San Diego. May 2010:
SCI hosted the Fourth Annual National Summit on Concussion and Other Athletic Injuries in Los Angeles, CA on May 14, 2010. This year's summit represented a common effort by the national and international scientific communities, clinical practitioners, and numerous local stakeholders. The Summit was designed to achieve a balanced representation of topics relating to basic sciences and evidenced-based clinical practice. The Summit is designed to advance current prevention, assessment, treatment research, scientific evidence and education to clinicians, parents, ATC’S, coaches, administrators, and policy advocates involved with sports-induced concussion and orthopedic injuries that occur throughout the lifespan.

May 2009:
SCI hosted the Third Annual National Summit on Concussion and Other Sports Medicine Injuries in Los Angeles, CA on May 15, 2009. This year’s theme reflected cross-cutting and timely presentations and discussions regarding prevention, treatment, management, and the state of the science – emphasizing practical applications for ATC’s and team doc’s from middle school through professional sports -- by the nation’s foremost experts in concussion and orthopedic injuries.

May 2009:
In keeping with our ever evolving approach to expand the disciplines related to concussion prevention, treatment, and management, we are pleased to announce that Dr. Ken Mautner has joined SCI as a consulting physiatrist. Dr. Mautner is Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Department of Orthopedic Surgery At Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Read his full bio here .

April 2009:
In the service of neurocognitive prevention and management, SCI is pleased to announce a new partnership with DHA Advantage. DHA Advantage provides a scientifically supported natural source of Omega-3 fatty acid for brain, eye, and heart health. The Sports Concussion Institute is pleased to announce that SCI will be the concussion management team for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim Major League and Minor League teams for the 2008 MLB Season. Baseline concussion testing begins in March.

February, 2008:
The Sports Concussion Institute is proud to be the concussion management team for the Los Angeles Avengers arena football team for the 2008 AFL Season. Baseline concussion testing begins February.

December, 2007:
In an unprecedented statement of commitment to athlete safety and well-being, the California Interscholastic Federation has requested that 100,000 high school athletes in the state of California be provided with concussion management services provided by the Sports Concussion Institute.

November, 2007:
We are pleased to annouce the latest addition to our clinical staff Dr. Kevin Uchida, who is an experienced, licensed acupuncturist specializing in orthopedics, pain management, and stress-related disorders.
