Michael Cao earned his PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University (APU) in 2011. His clinical and research interests include developmental disorders, learning disabilities, multicultural psychology, identity formation, cognitive rehabilitation, and neuropsychology.
Dr. Cao received training in neuropsychological assessment at APU's Pediatric Neurodevelopment Institute and at UCLA's Autism Evaluation Clinic of the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. He recently completed his predoctoral internship training at the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine of the NYU Langone Medical Center. As a neuropsychology postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Cao's responsibilities include supervised evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults with neurodevelopmental (e.g., sport-induced concussion, learning disabilities, AD/HD) and neurological disorders (e.g., epilepsy, TBI, stroke, memory loss, dementia, problems with language). He is excited to contribute to a team of professionals dedicated to the prevention and intervention of concussion in athletes and of other acquired brain injuries.
