(SCI) is proud to introduce its National Spokesman for High School and
Youth Football Programs: NFL Hall of Fame Legend Warren Moon!
Hall of Fame Legend Warren Moon will serve as a role model for high
school and youth athletes, their families, schools, and professional
communities. Warren Moon will be the national face of SCI, for all
prevention intervention programs facilitated for high school and youth
football athletes to promote safety, prevention, and recognition of
concussion. This specialized and innovative concussion management
program targets athletes to provide them, their families, coaches,
physicians, nurses, athletic trainers, etc. with the appropriate
clinical care, screening tools, and training and educational resources
necessary to ensure that these athletes have access to the latest
advances in the care of concussion.
This Warren Moon/SCI initiative seeks to implement a new standard of
care in connection with concussions and effectuate meaningful change in
athletics, at the forefront of management around one of the most
significant and harmful injuries in sports today. It is the goal of
Warren Moon and SCI to demonstrate the value proposition of creating a
robust infrastructure around athletic organizations to promote optimal
concussion education, awareness, and clinical care. It is the vision of
Warren Moon and SCI, to create and facilitate prevention intervention
programs formulated to enhance safety measures for all High School and
Youth Football Programs.

WARREN MOON:
Warren Moon is an exceptional competitor, mentor and humanitarian. He
is a man who leads by example, encourages others to excel and readily
gives 100 percent of himself and to everything he's involved in. On and
off the football field he has achieved great success due to his drive
for perfection and his compassion for others. Warren Moon played over
20 years of professional football. Before joining the Houston Oilers in
1984, Warren played with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football
League (CFL) from 1978-1983. In his final season with the CFL, he set
professional football records for most yards passing in a single game
(555) and in a single season (5,648).
Edmonton won the CFL championship in each of Warren's first 5 years in
Canada. Warren set an NFL record with 404 pass completions for the
Oilers in 1991 and joined Dan Marino and John Elway as just the third
quarterback since the AFL-NFL merger to start 200 games as a signal
caller.
He holds the NFL record for quarterbacks with eight straight
nominations to the AFC-NFC Pro Bowl (1988-1995) and added a ninth and
final appearance following his 1997 campaign.
Warren Moon was named NFL's Man of the Year in 1989 for his work in the
community. He established the Crescent Moon Foundation in 1989 to raise
money for college academic scholarships in Seattle, Los Angeles,
Houston, and Minneapolis-St. Paul. Warren regularly volunteers his time
and expertise to a variety of charitable organizations that raise
awareness and funds for communities in need. Moon generously donated
$250,000 to his church, Windsor Village United Methodist Church, to
build a new community center. After his professional football career,
Warren Moon has continued his charitable endeavors.
Warren hosts an annual celebrity bowling tournament which raises funds
for the Urban Youth Scholarship Fund. He also co-hosts an annual
celebrity golf tournament benefiting the Children's Hospital of Seattle
and is a founding member of the Field Generals; an African-American QB
Club dedicated to molding young African-American QB's into future
leaders. Warren also plays an active role in promoting and enhancing
safety prevention measures for youth and high school athletes regarding
concussion. Warren serves as the Sports Concussion
Institute’s National Spokesman for High School and Youth
Football Programs. This Sports Concussion Prevention Intervention
Program was formulated to provide a safer environment for athletes
through a robust campaign of education, awareness, and clinical care.
Additionally, he serves as an ambassador for the NFL promoting the game
of football to young people worldwide.
Capitalizing on his interests in the television and radio fields,
Warren has worked with TNT, Direct TV, CBS Westwood One Radio, FOX
Sports and as a specialist with the NFL for pre-season games.
Currently, Warren Moon is the radio Voice of the Seattle Seahawks and
is an analyst for the FOX Sports Net Ultimate Fantasy Football Show and
the FOX Sports Net Totally Football QB Confidential Show. Warren is
also the Chairman of the marketing and business investment group, QB
Greats.
Warren Moon was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in
September 2001. To honor his achievements, a plaque was placed on the
Wall of Honor in Commonwealth Stadium (home of the Edmonton Eskimos) in
August 2001. Warren Moon is one of only the 21 persons to receive the
honor.
Warren Moon is one of six to be inducted in this year's 2006 NFL Hall
of Fame class. The official induction took place August 5th in Canton,
